Hindsight is a wonderful thing….but Malouda? Downing? N’Zog?
A couple of those were mainstays of my side last season and the fall-off in their scoring this term has been alarming. Almost Cahillesque, in fact!
Which side are you discussing? The espn team and Y! team haven’t been altered since inception as no one who reads this site, save one – Hi Conrad!, has ever asked us a question outside of the Official FPL. Very much liked all three of those players you’ve mentioned. The chances created from a year ago were a big part of that equation. While N’Zogbia clearly hasn’t adapted to his role at Aston Villa, and Malouda is relegated to the bench, Downing seems to be suffering from too many cooks in the kitchen. He isn’t the focus (or joint focus) of the build-up and that seems to have left him, from a fantasy perspective, Hope you cross over to read eplindex where we look quite a bit more at the stats of the game. It isn’t everything, of course, but helpful for finding fantasy standouts.
Just joined the ESPN group…Also, I’m commissioner of a “snake-draft” style EPL league that’s using ESPN’s scoring. I’ve got the 3rd pick in our draft and was wondering who you think I should go after. My first inclination is RvP or VdV. Thoughts?
How many people in the draft? I think that you’re going to see Robin Van Persie go with the frist overall pick. I suppose that it could be Rooney but given the scoring at ESPN there isn’t any reason to suspect there will be a weird 1st pick (like Baines), If you can land RVP that’s the pick, but otherwise I’d be looking Midfield with Nani, Malouda, VdV. I actually would be looking to go striker here and see if I could get David Silva on the way back. The 2nd tier of midfield is deep and strong with Ramires and Kalou, Young, Downing, Dempsey, N’Zogbia. The other option is taking best available midfielder and realizing your best striker might be Torres…
