We’ve returned with our signature fantasy premier league tips production – Last Minute Tinkers. All 10 Barclays Premier League fixtures chatted-up, brought home and kicked out before breakfast. Enjoy.

Arsenal v Fulham
The top defense in the Premier League will face Martin Jol’s high-powered offense in gameweek 11. Long-time readers will know how frequently we tout the cost-effective defensive options and both sides here are deep in the defensive ranks with several inexpensive selections on either side. For that reason we have split this match differently and we’re looking at the players by position.
Defensively, we’re not trusting anyone. With Arsenal having been blanked only once at home in the League and Fulham sitting on 21 goals to day, both sets of defenders are likely to concede at least one. Only 3.3% of fantasy premier league managers own Gunners’ ‘keeper Mannone and 4.9% of managers own Mark Schwarzer. Read the rest of this entry »

Fantasy Premier League tips: read LAST MINUTE TINKERS! Set lineup. We’re starting strong because we’re ending quickly. Hot out of the gate in an attempt to overcome this crushing head cold that has us bedridden heading into the weekend.

Aston Villa v Norwich
Key Injuries: Clark
Chris Hughton’s Norwich put in a top shift against Arsenal a week ago to earn three unexpected points in a 1-0 victory. However, if there is one man who should be acutely aware of the Canaries defensive frailties it is former boss Paul Lambert, now managing Aston Villa. Lambert will have to once more decide between Christian Benteke and Darren Bent. We would be more interested if either striker had shown the ability to score this term. Additionally, one time FantasyGaffer favourites Barry Bannan and Charles N’Zogbia are not receiving enough playing time to justify owning in Fantasy Premier League. Bannan (38′ in last three BPL fixtures) and N’Zogbia (105′ in last six BPL fixtures) should not be owned at this point.
A quick fantasy premier league tip from Opta stats: NO Aston Villa player has created more than 11 chances (Darren Bent). Bannan (nine), Holman and Lowton (eight each) are the only players with more than seven chances created. Read the rest of this entry »

With Fantasy Premier League tips needed as the League returns to action, Last Minute Tinkers are back following the international break a few players light. Theo Walcott, Bryan Ruiz, Kieran Gibbs and David Silva all look set to miss out while Dimitar Berbatov and Mladen Petric are reportedly fit to return. Plenty more names face late fitness and we recap the season to date below. Part 1/2 Available Here.

Manchester United v Stoke City
The Red Devils will welcome back Ashley Young following two months on the sidelines with a foot injury. The trio of Young, Nani and Antonio Valencia will likely continue to rotate. While the offense is remarkably consistent, the plethora of attacking options make owning any of the midfielders a difficult proposition.
We’re not covering United in much depth because until we see the rotation of a fully healthy squad we can not handicap the value in FPL against playing time and price. Our love of Nani is well documented and we do not care to own Shinji Kagawa at this point in the season. Low cost options like Tom Cleverley provide an inexpensive route to playing a five-man midfield but frankly we’d prefer to start James Morrison, Matt Jarvis or Raheem Sterling. Tottenham v Chelsea
Tottenham Hotspur can cement their title aspirations with an emphatic home win over Chelsea. Andre Villas-Boas will have nearly all of his first-choice starting XI ready for action and leads his squad into the clash with the knowledge that both offenses are capable of scoring a handful in this match. The corresponding fixture last season ended 1-1 with a goal for Emmanuel Adebayor. At this point in the 2012-13 campaign it looks that Ade is second-choice behind the rejuvenated Jermain Defoe. Defoe has four goals and two assists in the BPL this season and has posted the minimum two points in Fantasy Premier League twice in seven outings. The England man has seen his price rise to £7.8 on the strength of 130,000+ net transfers in over the past three gameweeks and we expect to see his name once more penciled into the starting XI. Fantasy Premier League tips abound. Last Minute Tinkers is here to address all of your needs and provide tips and analysis for each Barclays Premier League fixture. Back to two posts today as we look to focus ahead of the international break. We’ve written at length about the Champions League here and here and provided some helpful news about the site and an explanation of the new logo’s you’re seeing at the top of every post. Plenty of fantasy premier league tips to get to – so no further effort wasted. Part 1/2 posted earlier later today.

Southampton v Fulham
Key Injuries: Fox, Schneiderlin; Diarra, Petric, Berbatov
Fulham have allowed seven goals in their three away PL fixtures this term, including three to West Ham. Rickie Lambert sits level-ninth in the Premier League with 14 chances created, the same number as Vaz Te and one fewer than Aaron Lennon. This is another match where the stars align in such as a way that handing the armband to Lambert is simply not as foolhearty as it may sound. Lambert has scored four times this season, including three at St. Mary’s, and added an assist. When he scores, he has not always been a lock for Bonus Points, securing only three this season. Manchester City v Sunderland
Key Injuries: Garcia; Cuellar, Bardsley
Difficult to pick against Manchester City in this match as Roberto Mancini’s squad have been able to score nearly as liberally as they’ve conceded. The question is whom from the squad should be trusted this weekend and can fantasy premier league managers dare hand the armband to one of them? One interesting note, as we continue to preach patience with Carlos Tevez and note his value in relation to Kun Aguero is tied to price. Read the rest of this entry »

Two Barclays Premier League sides took the pitch in Champions League action on Tuesday with some important fantasy EPL news coming from those fixtures.
CFR Cluj-Napoca 1-2 Manchester United
Manchester United sXI: de Gea; Evra Evans Ferdinand Rafael; Anderson Fletcher Cleverley; van Persie Rooney Chicharito (4-3-3)
Substitutes: Wootton (Evans 79′); Welbeck (Chicharito 83′)
Injury news for Manchester United. Unsurprisingly it is a member of Sir Alex Ferguson’s defense that has come up lame:
Jonny Evans faces a race against time to be fit for Sunday’s Barclays Premier League clash at Newcastle after failing to shake off a dead leg against CFR Cluj. The centre-back was hurt in the closing stages of the defeat to Tottenham but kept his place in the line-up for the trip to Romania, partnering Rio Ferdinand at the heart of the defence. Fantasy Premier League tips as demanded by FPL managers as we get ready for the return of Rooney, Coloccini and Tioté. Ok, maybe just Rooney. Last Minute Tinkers is here to address all of your needs and provide tips and analysis for each Barclays Premier League fixture. One post today as we’ve published late. We’ve written at length about the League Cup here and here and the injury news for the week seems set, with few impact players out – from a fantasy premier league tips standpoint – due to undergo late fitness tests.
Arsenal v Chelsea
Key Injuries: Szczesny; Sutrridge
The Gunners will be without their first-choice keeper for the next several weeks which presents fantasy premier league managers with a unique buying opportunity. Vito Mannone is selected in 1.7% of squads despite a £4.5 price. We assume this is solely due to the gameweek opponent. Following the Chelsea fixture, Arsenal will face: West Ham, Norwich and QPR in Barclays Premier League Action. We’ve invested — he is sitting in favour of Vorm this weekend — and hope to see a modest price increase ahead of gameweek 7.
Sturridge’s injury keeps Fernando Torres in the lineup by default. Read the rest of this entry »

There were several Barclays Premier League sides in League Cup action on Tuesday and we examine the EPL fantasy impact of each fixture. Aston Villa, Chelsea, Everton, Man City, Southampton, Sunderland, Swansea, West Ham and Wigan experienced different levels of success and fielded different portions of their BPL starting XI.
Manchester City 2-4 Aston Villa
Balotelli (27′), Barry (OG 59′), Kolarov (64′), (Agbonlahor (70′), N’Zogbia (96′), Agbonlahor 113′)
Manchester City sXI: Pantillimon; Lescott Nastasic Kolo Kolarov; Barry Milner Razak; Tevez Balotelli Suarez
Substitutes: Sinclair (Suarez 62′); Dzeko (Lescott 74′); Helan (Razak 106′)
Aston Villa sXI: Given; Bennett Vlaar Clark Lowton; El Ahmadi Delph N’Zogbia; Weimann Agbonlahor Benteke
Substitutes: Albrighton (Weimann 66′); Herd (El Ahmadi 72′); Lichaj (Bennett 86′)
It was a massive win for the Villans, not only because of the opposition but because they finally found a scoring touch that had eluded them over their opening five Barclays Premier League fixtures. With five goals in five games – the floodgates opened against a Citizens defense that has failed to keep a clean sheet in any competition this term. The game ran into overtime and many key fantasy premier league players added another 120′ to their early-season tally. Read the rest of this entry »

Fantasy Premier League managers your long wait is over. Last Minute Tinkers is here to address all of your needs. It’s a short one this week. We’ve written at length about the Champions League here and here and the injury news for the week seems set, with few impact players – from a fantasy premier league standpoint – due to undergo late fitness tests. Onward with part 1/2.
Swansea v Everton
This is not a simple match for either side. The corresponding fixture a season ago ended in a 2-2 draw and featured a free-kick goal from Leighton Baines that would do many Fantasy EPL sides a bit of good this weekend. We have made an exception to our mantras of ‘no high priced defenders’ and ‘you can not predict defender scoring’ for the new England left-back. Until his price climbs into a new, higher tier he is undervalued for the production he provides. Steve Pienaar is frequently the subject of our praise, and he remains an exception fantasy premier league player and recorded two assists in gameweek 4.
The only negative for David Moyes’ squad are the absences:
If you own Swansea defenders, you are riding them out in this match unless you’ve significant depth assembled. Read the rest of this entry »
